Lessons and Inspiration from the Book of Leviticus

Talk 1: Go Back to the Garden

Today, welcome to CLOSER, our brand-new series on the third book of the Bible—Leviticus.

Leviticus is the most unread book of the Bible.

Because it’s one of the weirdest… But in Leviticus, we get a peek into God’s heart. We can get an idea of what God wants for us.

What does He want? God wants us to get CLOSER to Him.

Talk 1 is titled Go Back to the Garden.

What Garden? The Garden of Eden where God created Man to be His partner and co-ruler. But Man disobeyed God so He had to exile Man.

Talk 1 discusses how we can go back to the Garden— meaning, back to God, because the Garden now is God’s Heart.

In Leviticus, God established some House Rules. These are Purity Laws from Leviticus 11-15.

Talk 7: God Wants You To Live a Full Life

We continue our series on CLOSER, our study on the third book of the Bible—Leviticus.

In previous talks, we learned that Leviticus is all about laws or rules not meant to limit our relationship with God—rather, to draw us closer to Him.

To appreciate the rules, Talk 7 discusses ancient backgrounders on the rules – all pointing to the message: God Wants You To Live a Full Life.

Talk 8: Love Rules

Sabbath is the heart of all the festivals. So, we spend more time unboxing it.

Talk 9’s key message is: Live The Sabbath Life.

Talk 10: Jubilee Is Coming!

Talk 10 is the last talk of our series on Leviticus.

In Talk 9, titled Live the Sabbath Life, we un-boxed the seven festivals in Israel as described in the Book of Leviticus. Beneath these festivals,we discovered the God who loves parties—and vacations. Sabbath is the heart of all the festi-vals. So, we spent more time explaining it.

Talk 10, titled Jubilee Is Coming! discusses two more expressions of the Sabbath Life. In the same way the seventh day of the week and the seventh month of the year were special, the seventh year—called Sabbath Year—and the seven cycles of seven years—called Jubilee Year—were important too.

Talk 10 presents three spectacular events that God wanted to happen for both the Sabbath Year and the Jubilee Year, plus one more amaz-ing event just for the Jubilee Year.
