Radio Veritas Asia (RVA) on Thursday announced the death of its former general manager, Ms. Erlinda So.

So passed away on Sept. 21. After a funeral Mass, she was laid to rest at the cemetery of Notre Dame de Vie in Angat, Bulacan on Sept 24.

So was a member of Notre Dame de Vie (Our Lady of Life), a secular institute.

“Erlinda was the first general manager of RVA after the separation of home and overseas services from 1990 till 2000,” according to RVA.

RVA also said that So was active in “Unda”, a international Catholic association for radio and television now known as Signis.

She had been president of Unda Philippines and represented the country in international meetings for many years.

In 1990, during the Unda World Assembly, So was elected president of Unda-Asia, a post he held until 1996.

Fr. Francis Lucas of the Catholic Media Network (CMN) described So as a “firebrand”.

“She was an ultimate communicator, loving voice, so gentle but crisp on the radio,” Fr. Lucas said.

“She dedicated her life to serving God by promoting the ‘Word’ in all her actions in silent contemplative prayer and broadcasting on the air for many years,” he added.
